Issy 3 and Charlotte 6 both love Fleur's modern and healthy twists to good cooking made simple for little ones. Who would have thought cooking could keep them entertained for 2 hours straight! Even I keep learning a thing or two!
Fleur is the master of teaching to all ages as her adult evening cookery sessions have proved
At Cookykids HQ there is a large allotment which is used to grow fruit and vegetables for Cookykids classes. Whenever possible we will talk about the seasons and whats growing and use homegrown produce.
How it all started
My name is Fleur, I have two little children, Olivia aged 10 and JB aged 8. I love to cook, garden and look after our chickens! I have worked for the past 10 years as a Food Technology teacher in secondary schools across Wiltshire. I have taught mostly key stage 3 and GCSE as well as after school clubs and entering pupils for cooking competitions. I have a paediatric first aid certificate, food hygiene certificate, fire extinguisher training, and am CRB checked. In 2015 I decided to set up Cookykids to offer cooking classes to young children as there isn't anything like this available around Warminster.
Cookykids classes are aimed at getting children cooking and enjoying food. I have one fussy eater, and one keen eater, both with varying food allergies so I know how stressful meal times can be. I have found getting the children more involved with the selecting, preparing and cooking of food has made them more willing to try different foods, and they just love baking and getting messy. However cooking with young children can take time and lots of patience….so that’s why I’ve set up Cookykids! Your children will get to cook, taste and learn all about food in a safe and fun environment, and the best bit is there is no tidying up! Whether your child is a fussy eater, keen eater or budding chef, Cookykids has the perfect group for them. We will be cooking a variety of sweet and savoury products with a healthy theme (as well as some naughty treats too!)
